On a sunny day in April  Year 10 and Year 12 Law students were lucky enough to be visiting the Palace of Westminster; where British law is debated and made.

We left school and soon arrived at our destination. After being thoroughly searched by security, our tour began. We were shown around Parliament and given an understanding of the history of our late Kings and Queens. We were also spoken to about the proceedings in the chamber of the House of Commons, how laws aerethe sub-chamber in Westminster Hall, The House of commons standing committees and the House of Lords.

We were also fortunate enough to actually go inside The House of Lords, where the Queens speech is given annually and we followed the route that she takes every year( but they did not put don the red  carpet down for us!). We able to stand in the exact places that the members of the House of Lords stand.

Westminster Hall was also available for us to explore and to appreciate how lovely the building actually was. This was where William Wallace(Braveheart) and Oliver Cromwell(former Prime Minister) were sentenced to DEATH!

Unfortunatley, Andy Love MP was unable to meet with us because he had to attend Prime Minister's question time in the House of Commons. He has however promised to come into speak with us all very soon!

The children and adults were all very well behaved and it was obvious that everyone who attended the trip found it educational, and at the same time - exciting and very enjoyable.
